2010 Hall of Fame inductee - Laurie White

Laurie White

When President Di Pasquale arrived at CCRI in December 2005, one of the first people to welcome him to the community was Laurie White. She appointed President Di Pasquale to the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Trustees and the college was immediately immersed in highly visible workforce development issues. Laurie and the chamber also participate in several other college events and Laurie presented, along with college officials, at a fundraising forum in Boston sponsored by the National Association of College and University Business Officers.

As president, Laurie leads the state’s largest network of business advocates dedicated to improving Rhode Island’s local economy, business climate and quality of life.

She is an honors graduate of the University of Rhode Island where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She also actively participates in more than a dozen community and professional organizations as diverse as the Rhode Island Historical Society and the Rhode Island Commodores.

She resides in North Kingstown, R.I., with her husband, Jim Taricani.
