- Highlights of the 2008 - 2009 French and German Clubs:
  - September 2008 - May 2009
    - Tab Drive for Shriners Hospitals for Children
      - Continued to collect over 100 pounds of tabs
  - May 23, 2009
    - The Race for Grace - http://theraceforgrace.com/ - we have a CCRI Team in progress for the race on May 23rd in Narragansett to assist in research to combat the debilitating disease that is afflicting Grace - Rett Syndrome.
  - May 6, 2009
    - Grand total of $2,622 raised to be donated to Project Have Hope
      - “Project Have Hope works with a group of 100 women in the Acholi Quarter of Uganda and helps them transform their lives and the lives of their families. Through the sale of their beautiful, handmade paper bead jewelry, the women can feed their families, send their children to school, and look forward to a richer future.” http://projecthavehope.org/

    - Grand total of $550.53 raised for Heifer International.
      - Students from the French and German clubs collected donations for Heifer International (www.heifer.org), a nonprofit that is known for ending hunger and poverty in a sustainable way by giving impoverished families and villages animals like cows and sheep that will provide food, drink, clothing and income. The organization teaches recipients how to care for the gift animals and recipients agree to share the offspring of gift animals with others in need.

      - Students striving to collect 5,000 pounds of food Students from the French and German clubs have collected more than 3,500 pounds of canned goods and nonperishable food items for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank so far this academic year. Club members far surpassed their goal of collecting 500 pounds of food last semester and are striving to collect 5,000 by May 1. If you would like to help, donations can be dropped off in the designated boxes in the bookstore at the Warwick Campus, as well as in the Rhode Island Community Food bins located at the second floor entrance across from the elevators.

      - Christmas Collection for 10 young men between the ages of 13-17 living at this group home. Donated over 900 worth of items.
