RI Driver Education Program

Welcome to Driver Education!

Driver Education courses are offered through CCRI's Center for Workforce & Community Education at most high schools, CCRI's four campus locations and various locations throughout the state such as the Westerly Tower Street Community Center.

Please read all of this information before proceeding!

Age Requirement

Students must be a minimum age of 15 years, 10 months by the first class to register.

You can register for a class well in advance as long as you will be the required age by the first class. Proof of age must be presented on the first night of class. Proof of age can be documented by providing a copy of your birth certificate, passport, or baptismal record.

Students who register but do not meet the minimum age requirements by the first class will NOT be admitted to the class and will NOT be refunded their money.

When Do I Register?

You can register for class at any time provided you can provide proof of age (15 years, 10 months) at the first class.

There is a maximum enrollment number for each class and several classes do fill fast, so please don't wait until the last minute to register!

Please note that Driver Education teachers will NOT be able to accept registrations at your school. All registrations must be processed through CCRI prior to the start of class.

Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities

Individuals who require accommodations in a Driver Ed course should contact Monica Russell at 401-825-1214 or mrussell@ccri.edu.  It is recommended that this be done at least two weeks prior to course registration; however, additional time may be needed depending on the nature of the requested accommodation(s). CCRI campuses are accessible to individuals with disabilities. Questions regarding building accessibility and evacuation procedures should be directed to the Campus Police offices in Lincoln at 401-333-7035, in Warwick at 401-825-2109, in Providence at 401-455-6050 and in Newport at 401-851-1600. Schedule of Classes

Classes are scheduled on an ongoing basis, so if you don't see a class scheduled for your particular high school, check back again at a later date or consider registering for one of the classes being held on a CCRI campus.

You must attend all classes. If you miss the first class, you will be dropped from the class and you must register for another class.

Cost & Payment

Payment in full of $85 must be paid at time of registration.

Refund Policy

The College will refund your fee if the course you choose is full or cancelled, or if you withdraw from a course before the first class meeting. Refunds on credit card payments will be made by check to the registered student. No partial refunds are made under any circumstances.
