Electrical Apprenticeship Training

This program is approved under the GI Bill.

This program of study satisfies the state requirement for electricians' apprentice educational hours. Participants can register for the course that corresponds to the year of apprenticeship. Each course is designed to provide the necessary knowledge to progress through the four-year apprenticeship and lead to passing the state licensing examination. Students need not be an apprentice to take this program. This program is approved by the R.I. Board of Electrical Examiners and the State Apprenticeship Council of the R.I. Department of Labor and Training.

Classes include reading assignments and written tests. Attendance is strictly enforced. Makeup classes are limited. Students requiring makeup sessions will incur additional fees.

PLEASE NOTE: Each semester consists of 75 hours: 25 meetings in the fall term and 25 meetings in spring term. All Electrical Apprenticeship Training classes are held at Davies Career & Technical High School in Lincoln. All students must register prior to the start of class. Registrations cannot be accepted at Davies.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All students are required to bring a 2017 NFPA NEC Code book (ISBN-13: 978-1455906727) to class. This requirement applies to all levels. The book is available for purchase at the CCRI bookstore in Lincoln and is not available at the Davies location.

Veterans may choose to use their VA educational benefits to cover either their Apprenticeship Training Program through their employer or their tuition and fees for the related instruction hours at CCRI. Students may not be certified for both programs. For more information about using your Apprenticeship benefits, please contact the RI State Approving Agency at veterans@riopc.edu or 401-736-1164. To be certified for the related instruction at CCRI, please contact Micaela Black at Micaela.black@va.gov.

Registration begins for continuing CCRI Electrical Apprenticeship students on 5/1/17.

Registration begins for new Electrical Apprenticeship students on 6/26/17.
