The Chemical Technology (Chem Tech) Program is a four semester, career-oriented program, in which students are trained as chemical laboratory technicians. The program is structured to develop fundamentals of chemistry with emphasis on laboratory applications and techniques. This is achieved through “hands on” laboratory experience in CCRI’s new chemistry laboratories using State-of- the art instrumentation (see list).
Job Placements within the first six months of graduation are nearly 100% with a starting salary of around $40,000.00 with credits transferring to four-year colleges/universities. (See Transfer Opportunities) A Chem Tec degree creates an open-ended chemistry career. Some graduates have gone on to get their bachelors through doctorate degrees, advancing their careers and increasing their earnings.
Students completing this program will receive an Associate in Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.) in Chemical Technology.
Certificate program also available by completing CHMT1-CHMT 4, an English Composition course and one math course.
