The CECR is a virtual home for activities pertaining to early college readiness. Students and their families will use our website to seek-out information about programs designed to better prepare them for the academic rigor, social and cultural nuances, and the cultivation of motivation, confidence, and self-advocacy skills required to promote student success. The CECR is built upon a foundational tripartite of Academic Preparation, Social/Cultural Readiness, and Motivation for Success. These three areas are the building blocks of student success in the postsecondary environment and, exposure to these three areas early will give students an opportunity to strengthen areas of deficiency, develop a sense of belonging to the college-going culture, and above all, arrive prepared for success at the doorstep of higher education.
The CECR will work seamlessly with other state and local agencies engaged in college access and success work through the collection of data in the small pilot programs, through the social network of practitioners developed by the College Access Network, and through the website, which will provide links to agencies, important websites, and a bulletin board for announcements pertaining to high school students. Above all, the CECR mission is focused on early college readiness for all high school students, preparing them to enter postsecondary education ready for success.
