Explanation of Fees


The Application Fee is required of all students who submit an application for admission to the College.  It is used to defray the cost of processing an application. This fee is non-refundable.

The Placement Fee is a one-time fee and is required of all new and incoming students. It is used to defray the cost of placement materials and programs as well as the cost of the administration of the mandatory placement tests. This fee is non-refundable.

The General Tuition Fee covers the cost of courses. The amount is determined by the number of credit-hour equivalents (CHE’s) for which the student registers each semester.

The Registration Fee is required of all students. It is used to defray the costs associated with the registration process. It also covers the cost of transcript requests. This fee is non-refundable.

The Student Activity Fee is required of all students. It covers student services such as ID’s as well as various activities sponsored by student organizations and the student athletic program. It covers admission to all College home athletic events. This fee is non-refundable.

The Student Union Fee is required of all full-time students. It covers the bond indebtedness incurred for the construction of the student union, bookstore, locker area and dining area. It covers the maintenance, improvement, and equipping of these facilities. This fee is non-refundable.

The Learning Resource Fee is required of all students. It is used to assist student support programs and related learning resource center-based activities.

The Technology Fee is required of all students. It is used to maintain computer labs and the technology infrastructure.

The Lab Fee is required for certain courses and is in addition to the General Tuition Fee for the course. It is used to support courses requiring specialized materials and/or a specialized environment.

The Applied Music Fee is required for Applied Music courses. This fee is an additional fee.

The Graduation Fee is required of all graduating students. It covers the cost of the student’s diploma, cap and gown, and all Commencement activities regardless of attendance.

A Late Registration Fee is assessed to a student’s term bill beginning on a date specified by the College. This fee is non-refundable.

A Returned Check Fee is assessed for any check returned to the College by the bank. This fee is non-refundable.
