Cardoso’s 7th Leads CCRI at JUCO Northeast Invite!

Warwick, R.I. – October 23, 2018: The CCRI cross country team hosted the JUCO Northeast Invitational on Saturday over the CCRI women's 5k and men's 8k courses on the CCRI Flanagan Campus in Lincoln. All CCRI Knights and Lady Knights run their best times on the home courses.

Kelder Cardoso (Pawtucket, RI) placed 7th with a season-best time of 30 minutes 58.0 seconds. Gian Geruso (North Providence, RI) did not run a season best time but ran his best time on the CCRI course placing 16th in a time of 33:13.6. Brandon Bun (Pawtucket, RI) placed 22nd with his best time on the home course of 39:09.7. The individual winner of the men's race was Bonginkosi Maseko of Monroe College in an impressive time of 27:39.20. The team winner of the men's race was Monroe College with 25 total points.

For the Lady Knights Saramarie Cerullo (Smithfield, RI) ran her best time on the home course in the women's 5k placing 12th in a time of 25:22.3. The individual winner of the women's race was Claudrice McKoy from Monroe College in 21:03.50. The team winner of the women's race was Monroe College with a total score of 15 points.

Head Coach Gregg Cornell commented after the races: "All the CCRI runners are healthy and looking down the road to the NJCAA III National Championship in Westfield, MA on November 3rd."
