Big Improvements for Knights’ Runners at Emmanuel!

Warwick, R.I. – October 16, 2017: The CCRI cross country runners traveled to Emmanuel College in Boston, MA to compete in the 12^th Annual Saints invitational Cross Country Meet on Friday. The races were held at Franklin Park in Boston, MA. The Knights had four individual runners: two male runners and two female runners but did not compete as a team in either race.

There were big improvements for CCRI runners at the Emmanuel College Saints invite on Friday night. The first came from Ryan Pagliaro (Smithfield, RI) who placed 24^th in a season best-time of 28 minutes 20 seconds over the 8k course. Also running well for the Knights was Kelder Cardoso (Providence, RI) who placed 80^th in a season-best time of 30:10.

For the Lady Knights Allison Lenox (North Kingstown, RI) placed 107^th in a time of 23:31 in the women’s 5k. Saramarie Cerullo (Smithfield, RI) ran a season’s best-time of 24:43 placing her 128^th.

Head Coach Gregg Cornell commented after the meet: “Another great meet for our runners with three of them putting forth season’s best efforts. Our runners are moving in the right direction as we head into the JUCO Northeast Invitational and the Postseason meets.

The Knights and Lady Knights will be at home this weekend hosting and running in the JUCO Northeast Invite. The races will be run on the CCRI 8k (men) and 5k (women) courses on the CCRI Flanagan Campus in Lincoln, RI beginning at 10am.
