Lady Knights Ready to Defend District L Title

Warwick, R.I. – October 30, 2017: The CCRI Lady Knights volleyball team won the District L title in 2016 in impressive fashion with a dramatic finish against Harcum College in the Championship game on their home court in Lincoln, RI. This year CCRI finished the season with an impressive 21-8 record and look to defend their title at the 2017 District L Championship this year hosted by Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA.

The Tournament will consist of four teams. The Region XIX Champion Harcum College (17-7) Bryn Mawr, PA who defeated Region XIX runner-up Delaware Technical Community College (14-8) from Dover, DE 25-19, 25-21 and 25-11 in the Region XIX Championship game. The other two teams are the Region XV representative Ulster Community College (10-6) from Stone Ridge, NY and the defending Champion Lady Knights of CCRI (21-8) from Lincoln, RI.

The first match-up will be Region XIX Champion Harcum (17-7) vs Region XXI representative CCRI (21-8). The next will be Region XIX runner-up Delaware Tech (14-8) vs Region XV representative Ulster CC (10-6). Then the winners of the first two games will play. The losers of games one and two will play with the loser of that game eliminated. The winner of the third and fifth games will play and then IF needed there will be a winner-take-all final game.

Tournament specifics are still being finalized with details such as one or two courts and exact timing of matches. The Championship will be held at Klein Hall Gym located on 750 Montgomery Ave in Bryn Mawr, PA home to the Bears of Harcum College. Stay tuned for further updates which will be made available upon approval of District L Volleyball Chair.
