Cross Country Cruises at Codfish Bowl

Warwick, R.I. – September 28, 2015: The CCRI Knights Cross Country team traveled to Franklin Park in Boston, MA on Saturday to run in the Codfish Bowl.

The Knights were once again led by freshman runner Kody Sankey (Cumberland, RI) who finished with a time of 30 minutes and 55 seconds on the 8k course. His run placed him in 48th place for the race. Britton Laney (Pascoag, RI) ran his best time of the year during the race with a time of 32:23, placing him 62nd. Jared Gruslin (North Smithfield, RI) also ran his best season time at 32:37 that put him in 65th and Ian Fletcher (Lincoln, RI), who was running in his first 8k, ran a time of 42:40.

The Knights next race will be this Saturday October 3rd when they host the Tri-State Invitational on the CCRI cross country courses in Lincoln. The men’s race will be at 11am while the women’s race will be at noon.

The Community College of Rhode Island, New England’s largest comprehensive community college, enrolls nearly 18,000 students in credit courses and thousands more in non-credit and job training classes. Its athletic program boasts 12 varsity programs and an academic support program for all student-athletes.
