Warwick, R.I. – September 22, 2015: The CCRI Lady Knights soccer team continued play at Monroe Community College Sunday afternoon after defeating the Barons of Rowan 4-3 on Saturday. Sunday they faced the highly potent and No. 7 ranked (NJCAA DI soccer poll) Lady Tribunes of Monroe.
The game started similar to Saturday as CCRI surrendered an early goal, in the fourth minute Maddie Ferris put Monroe on the board 1-0. Monroe kept attacking and tallied to more before the end of the half to take a 3-0 lead into the break. The second half was much of the same as the highly talented Tribunes would score four more times to win by the final count of 7-0. It was a tough day for CCRI though they played hard they got into an early hole and the talent from Monroe was just too much to overcome.
The next game for the Lady Knights will be this Thursday the 24th when they travel to Holyoke, MA to face the Cougars for a Region XXI non-league game at 4:00pm.
