Warwick, R.I. – October 13, 2015: The CCRI Knights Men’s Soccer team traveled to Rochester, New York on Saturday to play an afternoon match versus The Tribunes of Monroe Community College. The Knights failed to come away with a victory on the day losing the game 5-0. The loss drops the Knights to 2-10 on the year.

The Knights came out to play with a defensive mentality. Head Coach Gabe Toro commented “I wanted the team to build on defense, in order to minimize the opportunities for Monroe. The defense did just as he asked for the better part of the first half until they gave up a goal on a penalty kick. After that the Knights found it hard to stop any Monroe attack.”

The Knights gave up another penalty kick goal in the second half and it once again led to a more goals for Monroe. When it was all over the Knights had given up five goals and took a tough loss 5-0. Zach Bromage (Warwick, RI) played a good game for the Knights on defense and did a great job holding the right side. Sindio Freitas (Cape Verde) did his best in the midfield to try and spark a Knights offense, he had some good touches but none were able to lead to a Knight goal.

The Knights next game will be this Wednesday at 3:30 at home on the Lincoln Campus versus Region XXI opponent Bristol Community College.
