Warwick, R.I. – May 9, 2016: The CCRI Knights golf team traveled to Hickory Ridge Golf Club in Amherst, MA the home course of UMass-Stockbridge for a golf match Friday. The Knights defeated Stockbridge 341 to 418. With the victory the Knights improve to 5-2 overall on the season.
Leading the way for the CCRI team was Eric Carlos (Newport, RI) who shot an 82 followed by Captain Josh Macera (Cranston, RI) was next with an 85. Carlos and Macera were followed by Matt O'Brien (Portsmouth, RI) who shot an 85 and Sam Caron (Cumberland, RI) rounded out the team score shooting an 89 for a total of 341. That was a whopping 77 strokes better than UMass-Stockbridge team who shot a 418. Other schools that had golfers play but did not register a team score were: Dean College, Springfield Tech CC and Holyoke CC.
The next match for the Knights will be Wednesday May 11th when they will host a match at 11am at Cranston Country Club versus the same schools.
