The CCRI cross country team traveled to Boston, MA to compete in The 2013 Emmanuel College Saints Invitational. Babson College won the meet finishing in first place with 18 points while the Community College of Rhode Island finished tenth with 259 points out of 16 teams who competed.
The Knights put together their best team effort of the season placing 10th out of 16 teams at the 2013 Emmanuel College Saints Cross Country Invitational. David Palkovic (Middletown, RI) led the way with a 21st place finish in a time of 28 minutes 12 seconds. Palkovic was followed by Alfredo DePina (Central Falls, RI) running in his first ever college cross country race placing 66th in a time of 30:13, DePina was followed by Daniel Duquette (North Attleboro, MA) who ran a personal-best time of 30:38 over the 8k course to place 73rd. Britton Laney (Pascoag, RI) also ran a personal-best time at the meet placing 77th in a time of 30:48. Both Laney and Duquette’s personal bests were by over a minute. Rounding out the Knights’ competitors was Austin White (Woonsocket, RI) ran in his first race of the season placed 132nd in a time of 34:47 followed by Joseph Gareri (Uxbridge, MA) placed 133rd in a time of 35:01.
The next meet for the Knights will be Sunday October the 27th when they travel back to Boston, MA to compete in the Mayor’s Cup which begins at 10:00am.
