The CCRI Knights coed golf team hosted the Rams of Springfield Technical Community College, who had a full team and also players from Mass Bay community College, Dean College and Holyoke for a match at CCRI’s home course Cranston Country Club in Cranston. The Knights team finished with a score of 364 while Springfield Tech shot a 345 as a team. With the loss the Knights’ record falls to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in Region XXI play.
As a team the Knights shot a 364 with their top four golfers led by Steven Letterle (Cranston, RI) who shot an 88. Letterle was followed by Co-Captain Zachary Sullivan (Cumberland, RI) who shot a 90, Chris Lussier (Cranston, RI) who shot a 91 and Rob Gallucci (Coventry, RI) shot a 95. The two other CCRI team members whose scores were not used for the aggregate score were Co-Captain Gina Bartolotta (Wakefield, RI) with a 101 and Meaghan Shanley (Warwick, RI) shot a 105.
The next match for the Knights will be the Region XXI Tournament next Tuesday and Wednesday May the 20th and 21st at Cranston Country Club in Cranston, RI beginning at 10:00am Tuesday and 9:00am Wednesday.
The Community College of Rhode Island, New England’s largest comprehensive community college, enrolls nearly 18,000 students in credit courses and thousands more in non-credit and job training classes.
