The CCRI Lady Knights basketball team traveled to Garden City, NY to play the Lions of Nassau Community College on Saturday. The Lady Knights defeated the Lions 94-42. With the victory the Lady Knights improve to 12-5 on the season.
The Lady Knights controlled the game and the end result was never in question as CCRI cruised to their seventh road victory of the year 94-42.
Five Lady Knights scored in double-figures and three had double-doubles in the contest. CCRI was led by Co-Captain Ahnyyah Jackson (Hackensack, NJ) who scored a game-high 27 points, including four 3-pointers, with seven assists, five steals and three rebounds. Jackson was helped by Co-Captain Allexia Barros (New Bedford, MA) who charted a double-double scoring 20 points, including five 3-pointers, with 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals and. Also having a big game was Amber Edwards (Boston, MA) with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds with four steals, Jess Winegar (Cranston, RI) added 15 points with a career-high five 3-pointers with four rebounds and two steals, and Jesse Ossian (Chandler, AZ) also had a double-double of 10 points and 10 assists with five rebounds and two steals.
The next game for the Lady Knights will be Wednesday the 29th when they will host the Rams of the Naval Academy Preparatory School at 4:00pm.
