Three Knights and one Lady Knight took to the trails of the Flanagan Campus cross country course with a dual meet run off with the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) on Thursday.

The Knights’ Bobby Allen (Cranston, RI) covered the 3.05 mile course in a time of 15 minutes 36 seconds to finish the race first.  David Palkovic (Middletown, RI) ran the course in 18:33 good for fourth place and Marciano Brunette (Narragansett. RI) placed fifth in a time of 18:46.
For the Lady Knights Meg Shanley (Warwick, RI) placed third among the women in a time of 30:41.  Only the NAPS men’s team was complete so they took the title with a perfect score of 15. Both Naps and CCRI women’s teams were incomplete.

Head Coach Gregg Cornell commented after the race “Individually CCRI runners are coming along nicely and will keep getting stronger as the season progresses.”

The next meet of the Knights will be next Saturday the 29th when they will host the Tri-State Invitational, the women’s race begins at 9:30 am and the men’s at 10:00am.
