The CCRI Knights’ offense exploded for twelve runs in the first three innings. On the mound for the Knights freshman Marc Boutilier (Orlando, FL) picked-up his first victory of the season as the Knights extended their winning streak to 16 games with a 12-1 win over Mitchell College. Co-Captain Mike Sherburne (North Kingstown, RI) and Joe Yankee (Lincoln, RI) led the way offensively with both of them hitting a doubles to drive in two runs while Tyler Santaniello (Lincoln, RI) added a home run and two RBIs as the Knights pounded out 13 hits.

On the mound, Boutilier pitched five very strong innings limiting Mitchell to only four hits and one run while striking out four Mariner batters to pick up the victory. CJ Angelo (Trumbull, CT) came on to pitch scoreless ball over the final two innings to preserve the victory for the Knights. With the victory the Knights improved their overall record to 26-9.

The Knights’ next games will be Saturday when they travel to Groton, CT to play Region XXI arch rivals UConn-Avery Point for a doubleheader to decide the location of the Region XXI Championship best-of-three series to be played next Friday through Sunday.
