Knights’ use ninth inning rally to beat Eastern CT 5-4!

the CCRI Knights baseball team hosted the Warriors of Eastern Connecticut Junior Varsity for a game on Tuesday.  The Knights defeated the Warriors 5-4.  With the victory the knights improve to 25-9 on the season.    
CCRI scored in the bottom of the ninth to edge Eastern Connecticut 5-4. Dan Depippo (Scituate, MA) pitched five strong innings on the mound for the Knights giving up just one earned run while striking out eight Warrior batters. Eastern Connecticut tied the game in the top of the 7th with a Derek Allen two-run home run. Max Perry (Pawtucket, RI) came in to pitch the 8th and 9th innings to shut the door on the Warriors’ comeback. The Knights got the winning run when on a hit from Gian Abbruzzese (North Providence, RI) in the bottom of the ninth. Co-Captain Mike Sherburne (North Kingstown, RI) also contributed to the Knights offense with a triple and run scored.
The Knights host Mitchell College Junior Varsity for a game on Thursday at 3:30pm at Fell Field located on the CCRI Knight Campus in Warwick.
