All College Month
Members of the public are invited to learn more about the issues affecting their health at the 11th annual Community College of Rhode Island Wellness Fair. Admission and provided services are free.
Flanagan Campus, Lincoln
More than 30 displays in the cafeteria will offer information and demonstrations on issues ranging from cancer prevention to fitness and nutrition so participants can gather resources to improve their overall health and well-being.
A diverse range of organizations will be present, including AIDS Care Ocean State, RI Vegan Awareness and representatives from various financial companies. The URI Master Gardeners will offer free packets of seeds and several CCRI departments and programs also will be represented.
CharterCARE Health Partners will offer blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings. UnitedHealthcare will offer derma scans and BMI tests, and students in the college’s Therapeutic Massage program will provide chair massage treatments to attendees free of charge.
Learn more about ways you can improve your physical, emotional and financial health with vendors from the Newport community in CCRI's Newport County Campus atrium. There will also be a yoga/meditation program in the auditorium at noon.
