Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree
Occupational Title: Clinical Laboratory Technician
Associate degree clinical laboratory technicians/medical laboratory technicians perform all the routine tests in an up-to-date medical laboratory and can demonstrate discrimination between closely similar items and correction of errors by the use of preset strategies. The technician has knowledge of specific techniques and instruments and is able to recognize factors that directly affect procedures and results. Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program (DMSD)
Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree
Occupational Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
The diagnostic medical sonographer provides patient services using medical ultrasound (high-frequency sound waves that produce images of internal structures). Working under the supervision of a physician responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures, the sonographer helps gather sonographic data to diagnose a variety of conditions and diseases, as well as monitor fetal development.
