Message from the President

As the college approaches its 50th anniversary in 2014-15, it is a time to celebrate the students, faculty, staff and alumni who represent all we have accomplished since we opened our doors in 1964.

From humble beginnings on Promenade Street in Providence, with 325 students and 11 faculty members, the Community College of Rhode Island has grown to nearly 18,000 students and 850 faculty across four main campuses and two satellites.

As we reflect on CCRI’s contributions across the state of Rhode Island over the past 50 years, I think it’s especially noteworthy to see that so many mayors and town managers have signed on to serve as honorary chairs for our 50th. We welcome their participation and look forward to an exciting celebration!

Sincerely,
Ray M. Di Pasquale
President
